When Alexei turns to a ghost for help dealing with a swaggering bully, he gets exactly what he wants: confidence, strength, and the power to stand his ground. If it costs him his friendship with Sol, that is something he can fix later.

The price comes due sooner than he expects. The ghost, an old Siberian soldier, demands that Alexei abandon the gay life he fled his homeland to live.
