This is the third book in the Father Grant Stevenson series, which started with Sinful Duty, about a half-Jamaican priest in the Episcopal church growing up in the Seattle area circa 1974-1978. The first book was followed by a second book, Sinful Fathers, with Archibald Boyd, the chairman of the church vestry committee, as its main character.
