#1 The idea that faith and new ideas do not always make easy company is not a surprise to me. I remember my friend Vince, who was a senior theologian for a heterodox Christian sect. When he studied the Bible, he realized that their sect had not got all its Biblical translation right.

#3 The author’s wife had to have his lower right leg put in a portable traction device after he broke it playing Ultimate Frisbee. The author began studying the Bible, and found many anomalous verses that were derailing the preparations for his next sermon series.

#4 The author was once asked about the origin of the word alien and explained that it was a combination of two words, alien and alive. He then asked how someone could be both alive and alien. The answer is that they are not alive. They are not human.
