As Carrie Jo embarks on her newest project at Idlewood, she is not alone. The restoration team quickly realizes that this is no ordinary refurbishment. Idlewood harbors secrets beyond crumbling walls and faded photographs.

The story takes a sinister turn when the spirits of the long-deceased Ferguson children reveal themselves, trapped in a time loop, unaware of their ghostly state. The mystery deepens with the discovery of an enigmatic clock and a menacing fog that seems to have a life of its own. But nothing is as chilling as the elusive Shadow Man.

At the heart of this saga is Carrie Jo, whose abilities as a historian are matched only by her sensitivity to the supernatural. Alongside her assistant Rachel, they delve into the labyrinth of Idlewood's past, unraveling the mysteries that the plantation whispers.

The plot thickens as Detra Ann and Henri face a reality that defies their rational beliefs. Meanwhile, Deidre Jardine confronts the ghosts of her own history, as her connection to Idlewood comes full circle.
