Digital Literacy

Digital Literacy provides computer literacy students with the essentials needed to understand what computers are, how they work, and why they are so important. It is written in plain language with visual examples and clear explanations so that even students who are typically confused by computer terminology will understand these ideas and learn how to apply them. This compact, college-level textbook introduces a wide range of concepts including: • Input and output component lists and explanations • File management best practices • Software categories • Communication and network types • Cybersecurity and safety • Expanding ethical concerns in a digital world

Written by community college faculty using decades of teaching experience, Digital Literacy is written for students in the classroom, not theoretical computer users. This classroom-tested textbook features clear and friendly language to demystify computers in ways that set students up for success.
