Arthur Conan Doyle had a longstanding interest in mystical subjects and remained fascinated by the paranormal. At the height of the Great War a change came over his beliefs. He was a prolific writer whose other works include fantasy and science fiction stories, plays, romances, poetry, non-fiction and historical novels.
