Hundreds of years ago, the servant gods Elsyn announced that they would destroy humanity once and for all, explaining that it was their duty as guardians of human peace. When the gods saw fit to send someone to fight the fallen servants, Iztris - the gods' own servant and follower - visited Cheryn. The heirs agreed.
