My Curious Questions for Raell Padamsee. In this podcast, Nilakshi Sengupta asks Raell about her parents’ work, her own style and vision, the range and variety she brings forth and her commitment towards working for the future generation. With parents like Alyeque Padamsee and Pearl Padamsee, Raell belongs to the first family of English language theatre of Mumbai. She knew about theatre even before she learnt how to walk. A hands-on theatre producer, Raell has worked on sets, costumes, production while growing up. Her production size can vary from one person on stage to 350 people in a particular performance. Her shows have been held in tiny classrooms to 2000-seater auditoriums. Raell is fun to talk to. Her ability to laugh at herself as giggles when talking about goof-ups that can and have happened during live performances makes her a name to reckon with. In spite of many an offer, the waiting game of Television, films, or OTT just does not excite her. Theatre is her passion and working with children lends her the vision of tomorrow. Her production housed ACE Productions and her academy for kids’ expressions work relentlessly for not only city kids but also for many NGOs. In this podcast, Raell has shared many a thought, multiple stories and her wishes to do more - a lot of which she may not have spoken of earlier. She is truly an institution by herself with her knowledge of theatre and shows at large. Raell Padamsee, is one of the most successful producers that the English language theatre of India has today.
