#1 I was struggling to come to terms with my life as a woman. I had been stuck, and the fear of going forward was paralyzing me. But I saw my daughter on her knees before those laughing men, and suddenly all my hesitancy was shattered.

I lived in a nice house with a man I’d been married to for 18 years, and we had two children, Bob and Ann, both in early adolescence.
