With ADHD, we often direct our self-worth into our productivity and achievements, which can contribute to cycles of burnout and chronic overwhelm. Combine this with a passion for activism and a drive to make a change, and we can feel our wellbeing and mental health take a nose dive.

This week's guest is Vivienne Isebor - a Clinical Associate in Psychology working for the NHS with individuals with Complex Emotion Needs in East London.

She is also the Founder of ADHD Babes - the first support group for Black Women and Black Non-binary people with ADHD, where she is the Director of Community Outreach and Wellbeing.

Besides working in mental health, Vivienne is a performing artist and organises events and creative workshops with a special focus on Black British history.

During this week's conversation, Kate and Vivienne talked about:

• Dealing with the UK educational system as an adult with ADHD • Being ok with taking breaks to avoid burnout • Knowing your work limits • Advocating for yourself and others • Creating safe spaces for minority people with ADHD • Advocating for women of colour within the mental health and ADHD space • Understanding our family history • Vivienne's work with ADHD Babes • Accepting help with executive function • celebrating our achievements • Burnout while achieving • Creating boundaries to help prevent overwhelm • Understanding our productivity and the need to succeed • Protecting our wellbeing while we undertake big tasks • Being highly educated with ADHD • Ableism
