In the early morning hours of May 25th, 2013, an officer in the small town of Bardstown, Kentucky was headed home.

That officer - Jason Ellis - was a Cincinnati native who had moved to the region a little less than ten years prior. He was married, with two sons, and had left behind his childhood dreams of becoming a professional baseball player to become a member of law enforcement.

But before Officer Ellis could make it home, he was murdered in cold blood - the victim of an ambush, just minutes from his home. To this day, it remains unknown who targeted Jason Ellis... or why.

This is the first part of a new Unresolved series, Bardstown - Revisited. I originally covered Jason's story back in January of 2016, but have gone back and added in new information, rerecorded everything, and changed things significantly.
