Multi award-winning singer Sonam Kalra speaks to Shailja about music's power to overcome all barriers. Sonam's work itself is a testament to this power, a Sikh herself, her music is heavily inspired by Sufi devotional music, largely an Islamic genre. Her musical endeavour, The Sufi Gospel Project, blends the many voices of faith, through music, poetry, and prayer to create one universal voice of faith. This project has earned her worldwide critical acclaim.
