Seasons

As our lives are a cycle of birth, growth, maturity, and death, so are the seasons, which makes us ask: Does life mirror the seasons, or do seasons mirror life? Seasons is a story about growth, change, and adaptability. It reflects on how the transformation of each year's seasons mirrors our own personal development and growth. Author Martha Conan compares seasons to life in all of its stages; spring is the beginning of growth and nourishment; summer is a balance in every aspect of one’s wellbeing, a time for development, self-importance, and self-identity; autumn is a time to have gratitude and thankfulness, to sit and ponder choices; and winter is a chance to unwind with deep thought and contemplation.

Learning from the past, staying still in the present, and preparing for the future can easily be obtained and rewarded through constant introspection and self-love. By loving ourselves, the world will look a little brighter.

About the Author: Martha Conan grew up in Central New York. She was adopted at a young age and had two brothers and one sister. Her father was a physician, and her mother was a social worker who remained home to take care of the children. Snow and water skiing, swimming, and hiking were common activities, as well as attending concerts, football, and basketball games. Conan attended a Catholic high school and college while studying ceramics and art history. She went on to graduate school at Syracuse University and received a degree in Rehabilitation Therapy with a focus on mental health and substance abuse. Wanting to learn more about holistic healing, Conan applied and was accepted into a program for acupuncture and Chinese medicine at New York State Chiropractic College. Unfortunately, she was not able to complete her second Master's degree due to her declining health.
