The Monster Men by Edgar Rice Burroughs is a science fiction adventure set on a remote South Pacific island, where the obsessed scientist Dr. Carl von Horn attempts to create artificial human life. His experiments produce grotesque, near-human creatures, blurring the line between man and monster. When young American adventurer Virginia Maxon becomes entangled in the doctor’s dangerous world, she faces peril from both the creatures and the men who control them. As tensions rise, identity, morality, and love are tested. A tale of ambition, hubris, and the perils of playing God, The Monster Men blends jungle adventure with early sci-fi horror, showcasing Burroughs’ imaginative storytelling and fascination with the unknown.
