This book is about crookedstar's history and how he became a leader. Crookedkit's real name was stormkit, but it was changed because of his broken jaw. He's apperentice ceremony was delayed of his jaw. So he decided to travel to the farm and live for a moon. While he was at barn, he met mapleshade, the dark forest warrior, who challenged a dangerous promise that can change his destiny. After his life at the barn, he got his apperentice's name by doing good deed. He trained with ceaderpelt and mapleshade. As a result, he become a great and loyal warrior, crookedjaw. Also he got a false omen from brambleberry that came from mapleshade to make him a leader. Then mapleshade make crookedjaw to kill rainflower, his mother, by making him resort to the promise. At last hailstar, the leader of riverclan dies, automatically making crookedjaw to crookedstar, and mapleshad make crookedstar to keep their promise by sacrafizing the cats that crookedstar loves. I think it's a sad story

One of my favorite books!!!!I felt ao effective for the all the cats but I sort of feel more like a little more towards crookedstar and I didnt no he had such a sad past and rainflower was so mean to him and every cat he loves do die!!!!!! I feel sorry for him
