The word "yoga" comes from the Sanskrit root "yuj," which means "to unite" or "to join." This reflects the core philosophy of yoga: the connection between the individual self and the universal consciousness. Through mindful movement, controlled breathing, and meditation, yoga helps practitioners cultivate a sense of balance and tranquility, allowing them to navigate life's challenges with greater ease.

Yoga is often categorized into different branches, each emphasizing a particular aspect of the practice. Hatha Yoga is one of the most widely practiced forms, focusing on physical postures (asanas) and breath control (pranayama) to prepare the body and mind for meditation. Raja Yoga emphasizes discipline and mental control, while Bhakti Yoga is centered on devotion and love. Karma Yoga encourages selfless service, and Jnana Yoga is the pursuit of wisdom and knowledge. Regardless of the path one chooses, the ultimate goal of yoga remains the same: self-discovery and inner peace.
