Loved it. Better than book 1.

Thought this sequel was pretty mid but am still very excited to continue onto the next book and see where the story goes. Plot is definitely there in this series, there are some nice plot twists and key moments in this book, and there's a bit more world building, though the origin story/back story of the villains in this series really needs to start getting more fleshed out and explained soon. So far villains are just a bit 2-D and I'd like them to have more depth. And hope more character development is to come for the protagonists too, though loving Helene for sure! There's certainly some memorable and inspiring pieces of writing here. I love the light/dark, life/death main theme. That is always well depicted throughout the book. Pacing was NOT IT tho. Was a real rollercoaster but that can sometimes happen with the middle books in a series. Super excited to carry on to see how the story unfolds!
