Don’t know why people rate this book so highly. Most of the text is just a rehash from his quit smoking book. He claims that his method is universal and applicable to stressful thoughts, but if so, why keep rambling on about nicotine and cigarettes instead of using actual examples of stress and anxiety? If you want to write about mindfulness, then please do so. I’m 1/3 in and I’ve hardly read anything about mindfulness so far.In addition, the author claims that dopamine is irrelevant to addiction and that humans get addicted by their intellectualizing capacities. Animals supposedly would not have addictions because they don’t have the intelligence for brainwashing themselves. This is just plain bullshit. Animals don’t usually have addictions because they don’t have access to addictive substances. If rats have access to a lever that gives them dopamine, they keep pressing that lever until they die. That’s addiction. If EasyWay works, this non-scientific fiction is not the reason why.
