The Aspen leaves turn golden, prompting a season of romance to fall over the little Colorado town of Estes Park. As love is professed through precious gems, the local jewelry shop on Elkhorn Avenue experiences a rush of customers—not all of whom have the best of intentions.

When Winifred Page, accompanied by her cute curmudgeon of a corgi, Watson, stumbles upon the aftermath of a robbery of Aspen Gold, the owners ask for her help. With tourists few and far between at the Cozy Corgi Bookshop, Fred welcomes the chance to investigate. However, as is so often the case, the brilliance of romance gets tarnished a bit, and the cut of the situation might not be exactly as it appears. The only thing that is crystal clear, is by the time the case is closed, more than one life will be forever altered . . .
