“Well I’m glad she mounted me,” Geoffrey said to Belledane as they made their way along the narrow path. They had just left the forest where their patron and lover’s tower was situated and were starting to make their way up the mountain path where Maeveen, the Enchantress, had directed them.

Belledane buzzed in the air on her butterfly wings next to him. She gave him a serious side eye and said, “Do you have to put it that way?”

“Of course I do! I’m a bard!”

“Not every song is about sex,” she pointed out.

“Mine are.”

It took all of the pixie’s self-control not to roll her eyes. “I know.” And then she failed in her self-control and rolled her eyes anyway. “I’m starting to wonder why I’m spending all my time with you.”

“And on that note,” said Geoffrey as he slung his lute case from off his back and opened it up.

“Please no,” said Belledane a little too loudly.

“I have the perfect song for the occasion to celebrate…”
