It is a heroic romance that tells the story of George Ormond and Dorothy Varick, two young would-be lovers living in New York during the American Revolution. Everything is thrown into chaos, however, when the war begins to intrude on their comfortable metropolitan world. Robert William Chambers (1865 - 1933) was an American artist and author. He is most famous for his collection of stories entitled "The King in Yellow".
