Colonel William Byrd II (28 March 1674 - 26 August 1744) was a planter, slave-owner and author from Charles City County, Virginia. He is considered the founder of Richmond, Virginia.
His works are among the earliest of Virginia literature and his diaries are considered as classic documents.
This diary shows the progress of Byrds visit to North Carolina, where Charles Eden was Governor 1713 - 1719.
