This Basic Marathi language course for complete beginners will help you achieve a strong foundation in Marathi over 5 learning sessions. The focus is on developing Marathi comprehension and pronunciation skills up to the CEFR B1 level. Marathi, an Indo-Aryan language, originates from Western India. It is the official language of the Indian state of Maharashtra, where it is spoken by over 83 million people. This makes Marathi one of the most spoken languages in India. Additionally, Marathi is recognized in Goa as well as parts of Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Gujarat.

Focusing exclusively on auditory learning enables you to develop their listening and pronunciation skills throughout each of the five sessions of this introductory course. Sessions are structured to gradually build vocabulary and comprehension through repetitive listening and practice exercises. Later content builds on content from prior sessions, for example single words learned earlier in the course are taught in phrases and then full sentence structures later in the course. The course starts out with everyday scenarios such as greetings and sharing personal information, so that you can start communicating in Marathi with confidence.
