Orphaned and sent to live with her stern aunts at New Moon Farm on Prince Edward Island, Emily Byrd Starr lives a solitary life. She finds comfort in language and writing. Emily starts writing stories and poems—she even writes for the town newspaper. Soon sparks begin to fly between her and Teddy.
