“God’s Country” with brothers Dan and Reid Isbell is a rollicking weekly podcast that sits at the intersection of country music and the great outdoors. Each episode explores how today’s biggest and most talented country stars and songwriters pull inspiration from rugged,  first-hand relationships with the natural world. Nashville songwriters by profession who spent their childhoods getting muddy in the wilds of Tennessee, Dan and Reid draw on their own passion for hunting and fishing to lead a thought-provoking and fun exploration of the fundamental role of outdoor living in country music.

The week Reid and Dan host legendary artist and Grand Ole Opry member, Jamey Johnson out in God's Country. They dive in on why it's been 14 years since Jamey has released new music and how his current duet came to fruition. Jamey tells the story behind how "In Color" became the song that is it and the personal touches they were able to throw in there throughout the writing process. Reid and Dan ask a million questions about the legendary "Traler Park Boys" here in Nashville and Jamey shares some stories that had the boys in tears. The episode ends with a George Jones gravorite and we don't know who's gonna fill his shoes after this!

Ep. 100: The Traler Park Boys, In Color, and Working with Ronnie Dunn with Jamey Johnson

This week Reid and Dan host Cody and John of Whiskey Myers out in God's Country. Cody and John share the origin of Whiskey Myers and how it stemmed from high school baseball in Texas. Cody shares how he brought his Lure company, Toad Thumper, to life during covid and how perfecting the lures has become a true passion of his. The four of them dive into the ins and outs of elk hunting with a bow and what it feels like to experience a September season in the mountains chasing them. They share the process of creating their latest album with Jay Joyce and some of the unexpected moments from that experience. Reid poses the question of where they would love to play as a band and Reid and Dan still can't believe their response.

Ep. 99: Fire Ants, Toad Thumper Lure Company, and New Music with Whiskey Myers

This week Reid and Dan host award winning artist and songwriter, HARDY, back for round two on GCP. The episode covers everything from arrowhead hunting to how his life has changed since becoming a dad to the poignant message his album COUNTRY! COUNTRY! is giving fans. Hardy covers how the song "Buck on the Wall" came to fruition and how it took on a whole new meaning last year when his grandfather passed away and he killed his first Mississippi whitetail after his passing. HARDY gives an acoustic performance of "Bottomland" for the first time ever and his gravorite is also a first time song on God's Country.

She shares stories of hunting with her siblings growing up and how one felony took away her dad's ability to hunt with a gun for life. She ends the episode with a gravorite that will matter to you.

This week Reid and Dan host CCMA entertainer of the year and hit songwriter, Josh Ross, out in God’s Country. The three dive in on what they’re mad at, and it includes the guys being jealous of how Josh gets to start his mornings, every day. They dive in the on Josh’s Nashville journey from Canada, and the unconventional parking lot he lived in for months before he got his first deal. Josh shares the labor-intensive process of pond management at his new farm and how throwing a line gives him solace from the road. He shares the similarities of fishing up north versus the south, and some of his favorite tactics he’s carried to the states from his upbringing. The episode ends with a Gravorite flex the boys didn’t see coming, but lands at one of the top ones GCP has seen.

Chelcie discuss life on the road, how Tammy came to fruition, and some trailer park stories that inspire the character.
