Originally founded as Nuevo, the community of Ramona is now known affectionately as the Valley of the Sun and was for decades labeled the �Turkey Capital of the World.� Long before Spanish missionaries trekked across the verdant valley, �Ipaay and Kumeyaay Indians called the area home.
