#1 We had opposed this Catholic Church, in no uncertain terms. So our conversion was no small event. The something we had once militantly resisted, the Catholic Church, was found to be glorious, beautiful, and splendid. It was a fullness.

#2 The Protestant view of life and the Church was my home. I was raised with Billy Graham on TV, anti-Catholic books on the shelf, and Sunday School every week. I was born after my mother had experienced twelve years of miscarriages.

#3 I was raised in the Evangelical Christian tradition, not out of familial loyalty or cultural pressures. I wanted to understand the universe and the human race, and I found those questions answered in Christianity.

#4 The basic tenets of historical Christianity, as opposed to secularism, humanism, pantheism, atheism, Marxism, and existentialism, gave answers to the realities I faced as I looked at the universe and the humanness within me and others.
