In 1995, authorities decided to suspend the investigation into the disappearance of three women from Springfield, Missouri. This decision followed years of sporadic progress, including a grand jury review in 1994 that ultimately concluded without issuing any indictments.

However, later that year, Steven Garrison - a suspect with tenuous ties to the case - stood trial for an unrelated crime. Strangely, that crime revealed an eerie connection to the Springfield Three’s mysterious disappearance in 1992...

The Springfield Three (Part Three: Steven Garrison and the Galloping Goose)

"All we could say is missing. There's no end. There's no end to that story."

In November of 1995, the Missouri Violence Crime Support Unit finalized a review of Springfield P.D.'s investigation into the disappearance of Sherrill Levitt, Suzanne Streeter, and Stacy McCall. During their analysis, they agreed with the suspect list developed by investigators, but believed they should be re-prioritized. This led investigators to shuffle up the deck and begin exploring suspects they'd earlier discounted.

First came Robert Craig Cox, a known abductor and armed robber that was connected to a number of other crimes, including a well-known series of shooting deaths from 1992 and 1993. Then came Larry DeWayne Hall, an alleged serial killer that had been terrorizing young women throughout the Midwest for over a decade, leading to his arrest in December of 1994. They, along with Suzie's brother, Bartt Streeter, found themselves under suspicion as the first decade of the case came to a close...

Bumble Bee Road Murders

When 36-year-old Chip Campbell vanished from his Florida home in 2016, his life was already spiraling out of control. His house was found in disarray, his dog left outside, and his personal belongings scattered. Days later, he was last seen at a local gas station, looking disheveled and carrying backpacks that would later be recovered under mysterious circumstances. 

With ties to substance abuse, suspicious activity at his home, and a roommate with a criminal history, Chip's disappearance raises more questions than answers. Was he trying to escape his troubles, or did something more sinister happen?

This is a re-release of a 2017 episode, which features interviews with Chip's sister Lesa Kissoon as well as his friend John Claudio.

Chip Campbell (Re-Release)

"His personal details were never known to him, and he could only assume his origins based on a nameplate he had as a child."

On 24 June 1955, a Czechoslovakian State Security Patrol detained an unknown man near the Slovak-Polish border. Carrying no identification, the man communicated almost entirely through hand gestures. During interrogation, authorities would discover that he was deaf and mute, although both claims were met with a fair amount of skepticism. A comprehensive, nationwide investigation failed to turn up any sign of his identity.

Over the next twenty-six years, through many twists and turns, the man insisted that he was a Czechoslovakian citizen named Karel Novák. While authorities kept him in a constant state of surveillance and harassment, they were unable to determine where he came from...

Estrella Carrera (Update)

"... it's baffling. I've never come across a case where someone just vanished. And we have no clue, no reports of where she might be or what might have happened to her. I've not come across a case like that."

On the afternoon of Monday, 20 December 2021, three-year-old Lina Sardar Khil was playing outside of her family's apartment in San Antonio, Texas. Her mother was watching her and her younger brother as they ran around with other kids, but lost sight of Lina for what police would describe as "a short time." She was never seen again.

In the more than three years that have elapsed since her disappearance, investigators have been unable to find any trace of Lina...

Lina Sardar Khil

In March of 2016, a man by the name of Chip Campbell was picked up on the security cameras of a Circle K gas station in Milton, Florida. This would be the last verified footage of the man, who had been going through some serious issues in the preceding months.

In this episode, I speak to Chip's sister, Lesa Kissoon, as well as his friend, John Claudio. Both let me know about the circumstances Chip was living in before he disappeared, what kind of person he was, and their thoughts on what happened.
