Yet another textbook example of modern day/contemporary romances of the somewhat“reality adjacent” kind by Kendall Ryan. This one boasts a stalled elevator meet cute, some punny sperm banter and the chewing of gooey nougat, within its first few pages. The MMC’s hot, hung and highly desired -and yeah, he knows it. This penthouse dwelling workaholic CEO in his late-30’s, with women lining up to jump his bones, hang on his every word or just act as a placeholder for the next pretty thing to grace his arm at high profile event. Oh, and wouldn’t you know it, this grown up child of parental neglect, stifled emotions and an ill-fated divorce, turns out to be highly relationship-averse and without any inclination to parent or partner. And then there’s the little bookshop owning, cardigan wearing FMC who’s longing to procreate and parent. With baby-making on the brain. Ad in some baby-batter-bartering and Bobs your uncle. Thoroughly enjoyable, angst-free and lovingly narrated.
