Without being religious in the way the author(s) , this book brings up topics about life in both old and new ways. It is a common truth that people near death, on their death bed or those who experienced a near death situation experience a more sober approach to life. This is no different, although some of the thoughts revealed are different to the common: e.g. the advice on not having to high expectations, in fact have zero. A note to life that is quite different from those self-help books preaching positive thinking.The language is the opposite of preachy, and very down to earth, with words like babble, and experiences from a couple that has been through ups and downs in life, just like everybody else.
