This suite of popular biographies on composers is one of the best I have come across, and this one is the least interesting one, simply because the life of J. S. Bach isn't that interesting. His music is, on the other hand, one of a few things that surprisingly often is mentioned as the direct reason for people becoming believers in God. He was indeed the fifth evangelist. Bach should be played and listened to, not talked or written about. Why five stars? Because what words can't say, the music included says.
