I'm really enjoying this book. Actually, it's a little addicted. It reminds me of the 'Good to the Last Death' series by Robyn Peterman. In the series of unfortunate events, kind of way, and humour. But a slower burning romance. I still don't know who, if anyone she will get to play with!Great banter between characters. Lol moments, grief 😔 moments, bad ass woman all the time, internal dialogue that again makes you laugh as she gets distracted and cupcakes 🧁...no smut, a bit of spice and chocolate though 😋 The unknown half of who Jade is still hangs above her head. The discovery of what has been kept from her and the realisation of why is sad, but not heart stopping sad, just a aww sad kitten like moment. And that's got to be because her Gran while a huge part of her life is still quite a stand offish character. In fact, in this book, the characters of FMC mum (Scarlet) are built on more, and we learn more about Desmond and Candy, too, as we visit their patch.4.2 stars
