Castledawn

After the sudden death of his dad, 13-year-old DJ Mackay’s Mum moves him and his young sister from Edinburgh to the township of Linicro on the Isle of Skye. DJ didn’t want to leave his friends at school, but he knew his Mum needed a fresh start. Arriving on the island in the summer of 1976, surprisingly, DJ quickly grew to love the cottage and the Isle of Skye.

With his two best friends, John and James Macdonald, the three boys set off to explore the beautifully rugged and mystical Score Bay.

On a cliff overlooking the bay stands Duntulm Castle and, in its shadow, sits Castledawn. The large country house has sat empty since the war, but its crumbling interior contains a dark secret that should not be disturbed. Unaware of the dangers, the friends go inside and their lives change forever.
