Innocent at Large

Innocent at Large is a science fiction short story by Poul and Karen Anderson first published in 1958. A hayseed Martian among big-planet slickers … of course he would get into trouble. But that was nothing compared to the trouble he would be in if he did not get into trouble! Innocent at Large first appeared in the magazine Galaxy Science Fiction in July 1958. Poul William Anderson (1926-2001) was an American science fiction author who began his career during one of the Golden Ages of the genre and continued to write and remain popular into the 21st century. Anderson also authored several works of fantasy, historical novels, and a prodigious number of short stories. He received numerous awards for his writing, including seven Hugo Awards and three Nebula Awards. Karen Anderson (born 1932) is the widow and sometine co-author of Poul Anderson.
