John 14-17

Troubled. Confused. Uncertain. After 3 years with Jesus, there was so much the disciples didn't understand.

They were still reeling from the news that someone in their inner circle would betray the Lord. Worse still was Jesus's prediction that their fiery and courageous friend Peter would deny him, and that his death was imminent. It seemed unthinkable.

What would Jesus say to them? What comfort could he possibly offer?

Reclining around the meal table, Jesus answered questions, taught and prayed for his disciples. In this final tutorial, he wanted to remind them of his love and faithfulness. Regardless of what was to come, he was in complete control, and events would unfold according to his sovereign plan.
