After her perilous escape from the Janusians, Victoria Anetti is trying to live the normal life she always wanted.

She's no longer the last supersoldier in the galaxy. She's a permanent crew member aboard her uncle's ship, the Robber Barron. She's even beginning to mend her relationship with her parents.

On their next mission, Victoria and her crew stumble upon a Janusian gunship with a lone crewmember: Lieutenant Karim, the woman who captured Victoria on her mother's behalf. With no memories of her defection, Karim requests asylum aboard the Robber Barron. But her blank mind holds deadly secrets: the Janusians' goal to neutralize the Mahjin has changed. With war inevitable, they refuse to let Colonies control the only supersoldiers in the galaxy.
