Washed Over: ...Or, Things Dedicated

When examining his own poetry Reinfred Dziedzorm Addo often finds he is merely a conduit for the words, the inspiration source itself being a force or another being. In acknowledging a poem’s inspiration source, he calls the resulting work a ‘dedicada’, meaning something written in dedication or in recognition of another.

A debut full poetry collection, Washed Over expands upon Addo’s chapbook The Dedicadas and is a journey through a space filled with a breadth of forces and beings active in one’s existence. Identity, chaos, autumn colors, exile, people learning from the universe itself...these and other dedicadas make this collection an exploration of the experiences of someone washed over by life’s many inspirations.
