Flee to Allah takes its title from a single Qur'anic command — so flee to Allah — and builds a compact, source-grounded manual of Islamic devotional practice around it. Compiled by Abu Dharr al-Qalamuni and first issued in Arabic by Dar Al-Manarah, the book was conceived, in the author's own words, as a work of charity for the sake of Allah, and it argues almost entirely through citation rather than personal commentary: verses of the Qur'an paired with tafsir, authenticated hadith, and the writings of Ibn al-Qayyim, Ibn Kathir, and Imam al-Shawkani.

The nine chapters trace a single arc — the return of the servant to his Lord. Repentance opens the book, treated at length through the Qur'anic verses that promise forgiveness regardless of the gravity of past sin, and through the hadith literature on Allah's mercy toward the penitent. Chapters on this-worldly life and death set the sinner's return against the backdrop of mortality, before the book turns to practice: prayer observed at its appointed times, the etiquette and occasions of du'a, and dhikr in the many forms catalogued from Ibn al-Qayyim's Al-Wabil al-Sayyib. A chapter on excessive love examines devotion that displaces the love owed to Allah, and a further chapter, drawn substantially from Ibn al-Qayyim's Zad al-Ma'ad and al-Shawkani's Tuhfat al-Dhakirin, addresses the Prophetic guidance on epilepsy, sorcery, and the spiritual treatments associated with them — material presented throughout within the classical framework of prophetic medicine rather than as an independent medical claim. The book closes with a chapter of sincere advice, working through the practical disciplines — prayer, Qur'anic recitation, avoidance of idle amusement — that the author holds out as the ordinary means of sustaining what repentance begins.

Written for the general reader rather than the specialist, and translated into English by a team led by Dr. 'Abdel-Hamid A. Eliwa, the book functions as both a devotional companion and a reference to the primary textual tradition on repentance, remembrance, and return — suited to readers newly committed to practice as much as to those seeking a source-based refresher on the classical literature of tazkiyah.
