Book Preview:

#1 sensory processing problems affect children’s behavior, learning, and movement. They can be major or minor, and they need understanding and help, because no child can overcome the obstacles alone.

#2 Tommy is a three-year-old who is very fussy. He is crying because his shoes are too tight, his socks too lumpy. He yanks them off and throws them away. Vicki is a first-grader who is often in a daze. She does not seem to see where she is going, so she bumps into furniture and stumbles on grass.

#3 Paul is a extremely shy nine-year-old. He also moves awkwardly and has poor posture and balance. He does not have the know-how to play, and when he’s in a group with other children, he usually watches dolefully or shuffles away.

#4 The parents, teachers, and pediatricians of Tommy, Vicki, Paul, and Sebastian don’t know what to think. They all have very similar symptoms, and their lifestyles are very similar.
