British sleuth Patrick Dawlish is about to discover that during World War II, there's as much intrigue on the home front as on the front lines.

This is how he finds himself on a train to London with friends Ted Beresford and Timothy Jeremy—three junior officers with the same mysterious orders to meet in the same mysterious room.
