When Naval officer Alecin Hamilton receives a mysterious summons from her dying grandfather, she has no idea she's about to inherit a cosmic responsibility. As one of twelve Guardians secretly established by Alexander Hamilton and other Founding Fathers after an alien encounter in 1797, Alecin is tasked with protecting humanity's future by finding pieces of an alien device known as the Appello.

When Guardians vote unanimously that humanity needs extraterrestrial intervention, Alecin becomes the Chosen One, thrust into a dangerous quest to assemble the Appello and call the Kalecians back to Earth. Joined by rocket scientist George Washington—a direct descendant of the first president—she races against shadowy corporate interests who want the advanced alien technology for themselves.

As they develop feelings for each other, they must determine if their newfound love can survive the perils of their mission and the weight of safeguarding humanity's future.
