Twelfth Night

In Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, the character Viola disguises herself as a man named Cesario in order to be able to serve Duke Orsino, who she secretly loves. This plot point creates a number of dramatic possibilities, including the potential for mistaken identity and gender confusion. The playwright cleverly uses this disguise to explore themes of love, lust, and betrayal.
