Unknown Jesus

The meanings of Stephen, in Greek, are wreath, crown, honor to explain his conversion and death. His death was smothered in agony and pain. Fortunately not all followers were executed. Stephen showed great knowledge of history and Mosaic law. He was designated by the Apostles as one of seven original church deacons and first bishop. Acts describes Stephen as having an angelic appearance and performing great miracles.

His knowledge, piety and passion for the truth drew much ire from the Sanhedrin. As the first Christian martyr, he stands out because he delivered one of the most fiery defenses of our Christian faith. Because these leaders couldn’t silence him, they sentenced Stephen to death by stoning!
