Going Down

I hated stepping out into the hall of my apartment building. When your ex-boyfriend lives only a few doors away you kind of run the gauntlet, but if there’s one thing worse than seeing your ex it’s seeing your ex’s father.

Me and Mr. Clarke step into the elevator and the awkwardness is almost too much. When it breaks down the two of us are forced to talk more and soon the notion of ‘going down together’ takes on a whole new meaning!
