Traumatic incidents can result in people suffering from a range of anxiety disorders, which are linked to our natural survival system, the flight-or-fight response. Problems occur when the fight-or-flight response is triggered when we are not in real physical danger, when we are simply reacting to a faulty template stored in the limbic system of the brain.
