Privateer

The war may be over… but the fighting isn’t.

With the guns fallen silent, Lieutenant Alexis Carew finds herself grounded—her ship laid up, her commission reduced to half-pay, and her future uncertain. Back on her homeworld, she’s expected to trade command for quiet duty, managing family lands and settling into a life she never truly wanted.

But peace brings its own kind of trouble.

An influx of rough miners and opportunists is turning the frontier into a powder keg. Old shipmates are drifting into violence. Law is thin, tensions are rising, and Alexis—still the only real authority in-system—is the one everyone turns to when things go wrong.

She can try to play the dutiful heir.

Or she can fight.

As political battles reshape her world and new threats emerge in the shadows of “peace,” Alexis is forced to confront a deeper question: who is she, without a ship beneath her feet?

Because some captains aren’t meant to stand still.

Duty doesn’t end with war.

Privateer takes the Alexis Carew series in a bold new direction—where frontier justice, political intrigue, and personal stakes collide in a system on the edge of change.
