#1 We spend our days rushing from one thing to another, but we must remember that we are human, and we are all vulnerable and new born into the world every morning. We must pause and take in our most basic selves.

#2 Baptism is the entrance into the people of God. It reminds us that before we begin to worship, we are marked as people who belong to Jesus by grace alone, swept up into good news.

#3 We must remember that everything we do in the liturgy is a response to God’s work and God’s initiation. We are not primarily defined by our abilities or marital status, but by our identity as those who are sealed in the Holy Spirit, hidden in Christ, and beloved by the Father.

#4 We tend to want a Christian life with the dull bits cut out. But God made us to spend our days in rest, work, and play, taking care of our bodies, our families, and our neighborhoods. What if all these boring parts matter to God.
