The Lamb Alone is Worthy: Understanding Revelation

This is not that Revelation: No fanciful and violent future predictions. No seven years of death and destruction coming on the earth. This book is the real deal. Revelation, written to seven churches in the first-century Roman Empire, is a masterful, dramatic presentation of the struggle between truth and falsehood. The slain hero-Lamb stands at center stage of a cosmic drama of seven acts and seven scenes. The arch-villain red dragon, unable to overcome the Lamb, attacks the Lamb’s followers. A fierce battle is raging between competing testimonies and authorities. But the Lamb alone is worthy of devotion!

About the Author:

Roland England is a longtime student of Revelation. He holds a BA in Bible from Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA, and a MDiv in Bible and Theology from Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, VA. In 2022, England retired after forty-seven years as a pastor in the United Church of Christ and had served twenty-five years as the founding pastor of his last congregation. He remains active today as a spiritual director in the Credo Recovery Ministry and is the author of Worthy Is the Lamb: The Book of Revelation as a Drama.

He and his wife, Nancy, of fifty-seven years are now members of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in Boonsboro, MD, where they live. Together, they have three sons, James, Michael, and Nathan. Roland and Nancy, a former nurse, are enjoying their retirement years together.
