Liked the book. Nice narration !!

I feel very inadequate to write this review. Honestly, I can’t say if this book is really great. It definitely doesn’t have any strong storyline, and it is overtly detailed and over-explained leaving nothing to imagination and it is full of unnecessary references, which could have been left out. At the same time, the novel is evocative and creates a mood, a sense of longing, an yearning for a lost time which is now far gone and you vicariously live through author’s nostalgia. Beyond everything else, the whole novel shines because of its originality and novelty. Again, I am no expert, but I’d suggest the author to read Kazuo Ishiguro , Chinua Achebe, Haruki Murakami, VS Naipaul, or even more mainstream Ann Patchett, Celeste Ng or even our owns Jhumpa Lahiri, Anita Desai, Rohinton Mistry, Amitav Ghosh to understand how originality in literature really works. How else would the author follow this book with a new novel?
