Chivalry is Dead

Excitement is sweeping through Badger’s End as the Pennyfoot Hotel prepares to host a grand jousting tournament for St. George’s Day. While the downstairs staff rushes to ready the grounds, Cecily Sinclair encourages her aristocratic guests to enjoy the spectacle.

There is only one detail she would prefer to keep quiet: a footman has been found dead, run through with one of the tournament lances.

Behind the Pennyfoot’s elegant façade, scandal is nothing new. Its wealthy guests indulge in secret affairs, gamble in hidden rooms, and rely on the staff to protect their reputations. But murder is harder to conceal, especially when Scotland Yard is eager for an excuse to close Cecily’s infamous seaside hotel.

With the tournament about to begin and panic threatening to overtake the festivities, Cecily must discover who turned a ceremonial weapon into a murder weapon—before the killer strikes again.

A suspenseful Edwardian manor mystery featuring a deadly tournament, noble rivalries, below-stairs intrigue, and a sharp-witted hotel proprietor determined to unmask a killer.
